Deloitte Latvia Seminar for Rēzekne SEZ enterprises on upcoming tax reform had taken place

By virtue of initiative and support of “NewFuels” RSEZ SIA, “Energy Resources CHP” RSEZ SIA and “Deloitte Latvia” and in close cooperation with Rēzekne SEZ Authority, on June 8 seminar for special economic zone enterprises was organized in Rēzekne. In scope of the seminar the representatives of leading Latvian finance and legal consulting company “Deloitte Latvia” delivered presentations, introducing entrepreneurs to the upcoming tax reform in Latvia and the topical questions of investment protection and operation of enterprises in the special economic zone.

The participants of the seminar were Rēzekne SEZ enterprises and enterprises of the region, as well as representatives of municipalities and business support institutions. The main aim of the seminar was to inform entrepreneurs and business support institutions about the upcoming tax reform in Latvia, especially the new corporate income tax application system, which will come into force on January 1, 2018. In scope of the presentation the representatives of “Deloitte Latvia” drew attention to the tax advantages that would disappear as a result of reform as well as those areas and sectors that enterprises should restructure for successful operation in the future.

Alongside tax reform, topical questions of foreign investment protection and upcoming amendments in data protection regulation and energy efficiency requirements for large enterprises and energy consumers were discussed during the seminar. Furthermore, in scope of the seminar entrepreneurs also had an opportunity to have individual consultations with the representatives of “Deloitte Latvia”.
